As hoa hoa hoa season nears, Twilight fans are going to be able to stream the beloved franchise for free.
Lionsgate, which acquired Twilight production company Summit Entertainment in 2012, announced on Thursday that all five films — Twilight (2008), New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011) and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012) — will be streamed for free on YouTube for the first time ever.
Fans can watch the vampire pics, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, on a loop from Sept. 7 at 12 p.m. PT through Sept. 14 at 11:59 p.m. PT. The streaming event will also be available on Lionsgate’s official Twilight YouTube channel (below).
The Twilight Saga, based on author Stephenie Meyer’s books of the same name, revolves around the love story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen and their relationship as Bella discovers Edward is a vampire. However, their love is tested by other vampires, werewolves and her friendship with Jacob, who is also a werewolf.
Last week, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first Twilight novel, Lionsgate also revealed the films would be returning to theaters nationwide from Fathom Entertainment Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, with a film playing each day.
The Twilight franchise grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide, as well as skyrocketed Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner into fame. The films also starred Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Justin Chon, Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and Sarah Clarke.
Due to the continued love the films have seen over the years, an animated TV series based on Meyer’s novel, Midnight Sun, is also in development.
