    Rolling Ray, the Washington D.C.-based social media influencer and reality TV star, died earlier this week, multiple outlets and his family confirmed on September 3, 2025. Just two days away from his birthday, Ray’s death has broken fans’ hearts, and many want to know what happened to him.

    Rolling Ray was a social media influencer based in the Washington D.C. area. He was also known for his on-screen appearances on MTV’s Catfish: Trolls, Divorce Court, the dating series Bobby I Love You, Purrr and he was an icon for the LGBTQ+ community and for the disabled community.

    Ray was 28 years old when he died. He died just two days shy of his 29th birthday.

    How Did Rolling Ray Die? Cause of Death Updates

    At the time of publication, an official cause of death for Rolling Ray has not been revealed. During the final months of his life, though, Ray rarely posted to Instagram, which fans took note of.

    His mother, Sazola Nay, confirmed he died via her private Facebook account, according to Fox5.

    “It is with a heavy heavy heart that I let you know that my son Ray Ray iamrollingray has gone home to be with the Lord,” she wrote. “I thank everyone who has called or texted, this is going to be a long road.”

    The Zeus Network also paid tribute to Ray in a September 3, 2025, Instagram post, which read, “Gone way too soon.”

    “#RestInPeace to the BIG hearted, most Raw, & Real FRIEND & #Zeus Star #RaymondHarper aka @iamrollingray,” the rest of the caption read. “Your Laughter, Light, & Loving Spirit will Live on FOREVER! From #BobbyILoveYouPurrr to #TheConversation, you were Unapologetically & Authentically your TRUEST Self. From your ZEUS Fam, we Love, Thank, & will Miss you Always! Sending Prayers & Condolences to his loved ones!”

    Rolling Ray’s Health: What We Know

    As fans know, Rolling Ray was wheelchair bound. He even called himself the “most famous boy inna wheelchair” on his social media.

    Over the years, Ray experienced a few health setbacks, including a 2022 coma from COVID-19. In 2021, he suffered from severe burns after a fire incident, according to The Mirror.
