Lava has announced a new budget device. The Lava Yuva Smart 2 is the successor to the original Yuva Smart. The handset brings some decent features while targeting the affordable segment.
The Lava Yuva Smart 2 comes with a glass back design, something which is uncommon in budget smartphones. The Yuva Smart 1 had a polycarbonate back panel. The Smart 2 comes in two colours, Crystal Blue and Crystal Gold.
The Yuva Smart 2 is powered by the UNISOC 9863a, an entry-level octa-core processor. Lava claims that the handset can manage everyday tasks with ease. Though, it does not support 5G. The phone comes with 3GB of RAM and 3GB of virtual RAM.
The Smart 2 has a 6.75-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, an upgrade over the 60Hz in the Yuva 1.
The battery remains unchanged with a capacity of 5,000mAh. The phone supports 10W charging via USB Type-C.
The Lava Yuva Smart 2 comes with a 13-megapixel AI dual rear camera set-up. The camera comes with different modes such as Night, HDR, and Time Lapse. The front camera is a 5-megapixel sensor. It is likely the same set-up as its predecessor.
The Smart 2 runs on Android 15 Go Edition out of the box. Lava claims that the device provides a clean, bloatware-free experience. Budget Android handsets have been infamous for ads and bloatware.
The company has not given details regarding OS updates for the Yuva Smart 2. The Smart 1 is yet to receive any major OS update. Though, as per Lava’s official website, it provides at least 2 years of security patches to its devices.
Lava Yuva Smart 2 price
The Yuva Smart 2 comes in a single variant with 3GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device is priced at Rs 6,099. This is a Rs 99 increase from the Smart 1’s launch price.
Lava provides Free Service at Home for the Yuva Smart 2 pan India. Customers can also take the device to any Lava retail outlet for assistance. The company claims that the device will be an attractive proposition for first-time smartphone users.
