After giving Bollywood hit films like Black Friday, Manmarziyaan and Gangs of Wasseypur, popular filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap is back with another unique and interesting film, Nishaanchi. The trailer of the same dropped on September 3, 2025, and the film marks the debut of Aaishvary Thackeray, who will be seen in a double role. Read on to know about the highlights in the trailer.
The trailer of Nishaanchi is out
The film, Nishaanchi, as the trailer suggests, will explore themes like action, comedy, romance and betrayal. The trailer itself looks like a full-blown Bollywood masala film. The trailer of Nishaanchi, manages to give the audience a feeling of nostalgic Bollywood masala entertainer, as the film is set in early 2000s Uttar Pradesh. The film follows twin brothers, ‘Babloo’ and ‘Dabloo’ (played by Aaishvary Thackeray). Even though, they are identical in looks, they have completely different values.
The trailer features high-speed chases, confrontations, heartfelt romance and interesting dialogues. It also manages to recreate the charm of a small-town. The trailer also suggests that the audience can expect a little bit of family drama wrapped in humour. What captures the most attention is the sound track of the film, which can be nostalgic for the viewers.
Apart from Aaishvary Thackeray in double role, the film, Nishaanchi casts Vedika Pinto, Monika Panwar, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra. The film is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under the banner of Jar Pictures. It is all set to release in theatres on September 19, 2025.

While talking about the film, Nishaanchi, the director of it, Anurag Kashyap shared his thoughts and mentioned that this film is the most cinematic film that he has ever made till now. According to him, it explores everything that he grew up watching in films.
Apart from Anurag, the lead actor, Aaishvary Thackeray also spoke about his role in the film and mentioned that it was very challenging for him to play two entirely different characters. He also shared that he has contributed to the music of the film. He said:
“Playing twins who are complete opposites challenged me in every way—emotionally, physically, and as an actor. At the same time, contributing to the music of the film was just as special. I’m nervous, but also excited, to finally share this world with everyone. With Anurag sir guiding me through the journey, I discovered something new in every scene, every note.”

Within hours of the trailer’s release, a lot of users shared their thoughts and appreciated the trailer. One fan commented, “Seems Anurag is back in his zone.” Another fan wrote, “His voice is like actor Nawazuddin. The actor looks to be promising.” A third user shared, “Awesome! Revival of Bollywood cinema. Release this in maximum single screens, it will run for 25 weeks.” Another fan wrote, “Bollywood mein aaag lagne waali hai dosto’n, The OG KING is back.”
