YouTube stars Dude Perfect are putting their stunts and trick shots (mostly) to the side for their latest offering.
The sports/comedy troupe will launch an interview show, Almost Athletes With Dude Perfect, on Sept. 10 on YouTube (on its own channel, separate from the main Dude Perfect feed) and podcast platforms. The video podcast marks the group’s first entry into what it calls “long-form, personality-driven” content. Dude Perfect members Garrett Hilbert and Kevin “Sparky” Sparkman will host the show, which will also feature a rotating cast of other Dudes and celebrity guests.
Wave Sports & Entertainment, the company behind a host of similar sports-and-culture shows including New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce, The Right Time With Bomani Jones and Carmelo Anthony’s 7PM in Brooklyn, is producing the series. Watch a trailer for Almost Athletes below.
“We love bringing people together in front of the screen, and now we’re excited to join you wherever you are — on the road, at practice, or just hanging out with your headphones on,” said Hilbert, a co-founder of Dude Perfect. “This show is all about sharing laughs, building connections, and letting fans get even closer to the DP family. We’re pulling back the curtain on our wildest stories, reliving our favorite off-camera moments, and bringing in the athletes, stars, and creators we admire most for conversations you won’t hear anywhere else.”
Almost Athletes will also feature an interactive element, with the hosts taking questions, challenge ideas and other suggestions from viewers.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Dude Perfect to showcase the Dudes’ world in a way fans haven’t seen before,” said Mack Sovereign, Wave Sports & Entertainment’s chief content officer. “Pairing Wave’s experience creating original series that resonate with today’s digital fans with Dude Perfect’s incredible brand and track record of internet-leading programming is a natural fit as we expand further into the creator space.”
Toymaker Hasbro will be a partner on Almost Athletes for its debut, and its games Rebounce and Connect 4 Frenzy will be incorporated into the show.
