Brooks Nader’s sisters staged an intervention for the model over her “concerning” use of weight loss drugs.
In episode 7 of the siblings’ new reality series, “Love Thy Nader,” the “Dancing With the Stars” alum’s sisters, Sarah Jane Nader, Grace Ann Nader and Mary Holland Nader, talked to Brooks about her excessive use of GLP-1 after she almost passed out during a workout class.
“I typically microdose GLP-1, this weight-loss drug,” Brooks, 28, explained.
“But now, since I have Maxim [photo shoot] coming up, and I’m probably gonna be half-naked, I’m upping my dose a little because I want to be extra snatched,” she added.
“But at the same time, the symptoms of the weight loss drug, they’ve gotten a lot worse recently.”
After the exercise class, Brooks’ sisters found her nearly unconscious in the bathtub.
“She didn’t eat last night and she didn’t eat anything today,” Grace Ann, 25, said in a confessional about her famous sister.
“There is an enormous amount of pressure in the modeling industry in order to be a working model. I’ve felt it, everyone’s felt it. But Brooks puts an unrealistic amount of pressure on herself in order to maintain her appearance.”
Though Brooks brushed off the incident, she admitted that she has been overly “nauseous” and “tired” due to the medication.
Grace Ann said she was “seriously worried” about her older sister because Brooks is “really fatigued, she’s passing out, she’s throwing up.”
The next day, Grace Ann staged an intervention for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model after she and Mary Holland, 26, found an excessive pile of needles and bottles of the GLP-1 drug.
“Just seeing all of the needles piled up in one place makes me realize the gravity of how deep she’s gone in it. This is different doctors, clearly. This is different pharmacies,” Mary Holland said.
“That’s dangerous. She’s overprescribed. This amount is so concerning,” she added.
Sarah Jane, who confessed to also taking a weight loss drug in the past, said she believes “something deeper is going on” with her oldest sister.
Brooks was caught off guard when a psychologist arrived to mediate the intervention. She snapped back at her sisters for “throwing stones” — especially when some of them have also tried GLP-1.
“Why do you think I’m on GLP-1? Because every job I do, it’s like you have to fit into a certain standard and a certain measurement and they’re straight up measuring my hips for all these new fashion jobs I’m getting into in Paris and Milan,” the model shared.
“There’s requirements I don’t meet. And I know how vapid this industry is and if I say no to it, they’re just going to pick someone else.”
While Brooks acknowledged that she needed to take better care of her health, she told her sisters that she would stay on the weight loss drugs and only consume bone broth until her photo shoot was over.
“I know my sisters are coming from a place of love, I just find that you don’t know until you’re in that position how to handle it,” she said.
“I think that I have maybe an unhealthy relationship with weight and food because of the industry that I’m in, but I don’t think that I have an eating disorder.”
Season 1 of “Love Thy Nader” is out now and available to watch on Hulu.
