The 2025 Venice Film Festival featured several style trends thus far, most prominently sheer dresses. A mainstay on the red carpet throughout the years, sheer dresses designed by Saint Laurent, Armani Privé and more graced the annual film festival in Italy since it kicked off on Wednesday.

Leni Klum, Leslie Bibb and Halsey are just a few of the stars to style these see-through numbers. Ahead WWD breaks down those looks and more sheer styles from the 2025 Venice Film Festival.

Bibb turned to Armani Privé for her sheer gown moment. “The White Lotus” star wore a look from the Italian luxury fashion house’s spring 2025 couture collection, which debuted in January. The shimmering dress was crafted with various shades of purple, and the strapless design included a fitted bodice, cinched waist and flowing skirt with transparent fabric. Bibb’s look was curated by stylist Jeanann Williams.

Chloë Sevigny married sheer black botanical lace with a voluminous, bubble hem statement skirt in her Saint Laurent look. The Oscar-nominated actress’ dress was designed with a long-sleeve catsuit featuring a biker short hem that sat right above the knee, worn with a pair of minimal, toe-ring stiletto sandals.
