Famous singer and actor, Rahul Deshpande, announced his separation from his wife, Neha Deshpande, after 17 years of togetherness. The couple have always maintained privacy around their lives. It is one of the reasons why Rahul shared an official statement regarding his divorce a year after legally parting ways from Neha.

On September 2, 2025, Rahul Deshpande took to his Instagram handle and shared an official statement announcing his separation from Neha. He switched off the comments on his picture post, in which he mentioned that he had ended his 17-year marriage to Neha Deshpande.
He mentioned that they had mutually decided to part ways, and their divorce was finalised in September 2024. So, it has been almost a year since they parted ways. He wrote:
“Dear Friends, Each of you has been a meaningful part of my journey in your own way, and that’s why I want to share a personal and important update with you. I have already shared this news with some of you. After 17 years of marriage and countless cherished memories, Neha and I have mutually parted ways and continue our lives independently. Our legal separation was amicably finalised in September 2024.”
Rahul Deshpande added that he chose to take time to share this update about his life. He added that he will continue to co-parent his daughter, Renuka, with Neha. He mentioned that it is in his daughter’s best interest. The singer described it as a new chapter in his life and requested privacy during this time. He wrote:
“I chose to take some time before sharing this update to process the transition privately and to ensure that everything was thoughtfully managed, especially with the best interest of our daughter, Renuka at heart. She remains my highest priority, and I am committed to co-parenting her with Neha, with unwavering love, support, and stability. While this marks a new chapter for us as individuals, our bond as parents and the respect we hold for each other remain strong. I truly appreciate your understanding and respect for our privacy and decision during this time. With love and gratitude, Rahul.”

For the unversed, Rahul Deshpande was born on October 10, 1979, and he hails from Pune, Maharashtra. Rahul’s love for music made him train under Pandit Gangadharbuva Pimppalkhare and Dr. Madhusudan Patwardhan, and later he honed his skills in the guidance of Smt. Ushatai Chipalkatti and Pandit Mukul Shivputra.
He has also studied tabla under Pandit Suresh Samant. Rahul was also seen as a judge in Zee Marathi’s popular reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa — Little Champs and Zee Yuva’s Sangeet Samrat Parva 2. Rahul is also known for singing songs in famous Marathi films. He even won a National Award for Best Male Playback singer for the film, Me Vasantrao. He had also played the lead role in the superhit film.
