After bringing in Rs. 28.48 crores over the weekend, Param Sundari was positioned reasonably well at the box office. After all, the film has been made at a reasonable cost and hence is by and large a safe proposition. Hence, one waited to see how Monday unfolded since Friday collections were Rs. 7.37 crores and hence anything over Rs. 4 crores would have been decent enough.

The film did a bit lesser than that though with Rs. 3.32 crores coming in. That’s a little over 50% drop, as a result of which the numbers can be considered fair. The film could actually have added a bit more, especially in NCR, but then huge rains right through the day meant that there was a loss of at least Rs. 25 lakhs, which turned out to be a spanner in the plans.

Nonetheless, today is Blockbuster Tuesday, which means reduced ticket rates should bring in more footfalls. Ideally, the film would be aiming to cross at least Rs. 4 crores today. If that happens, then the film will be on course to go past Rs. 40 crores mark after the first week is through. So far, the Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor starrer has collected Rs. 31.80 crores and stays in contention for a lifetime of around Rs. 55-60 crores.
