Director Tushar Jalota’s romantic comedy ‘Param Sundari’, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, hit theatres last Friday with hopes of reviving Bollywood’s massy rom-com genre. However, the film’s box office run hasn’t lived up to expectations.
According to the latest update from Sacnilk, ‘Param Sundari’ witnessed a sharp decline on its first Monday. As per early reports, the film collected Rs 3.50 crore on Monday. The film’s overall collection after 4 days now stands at Rs 28.19 crore.
‘Param Sundari’ opened on Friday with Rs 7.25 crore, and went on to show growth over the weekend, registering the highest on Sunday with Rs 30.25 crore.
The film registered an overall Hindi occupancy of 10.67 per cent on Monday, with 8.57 per cent in the morning shows, 11.97 per cent in the afternoon, 10.73 per cent in the evening, and 11.42 per cent at night.
‘Param Sundari’ narrates the story of two lead characters who hail from Delhi and Kerala, respectively. While Sidharth played a Punjabi boy, Janhvi played the role of a half-Malayali and half-Tamilian.
Other than Sidharth and Janhvi, the film also stars Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya in pivotal roles. The soundtrack, specifically the song ‘Pardesiya’, garnered a lot of acclaim even before its release.
