Kim Kardashian was once again put on blast by critics for allowing her daughter North West to get a dangerous hand piercing.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the 12-year-old had what appeared to be a dermal finger piercing — known to be a single-point piercing — on her middle finger while she and the SKIMS founder were vacationing in Rome last month.
Dermal piercings are different from regular piercings, as they “don’t have a separate entry and exit point for jewelry,” per Healthline.
Lulu Ave, a piercing and jewelry company, also warns on their website that finger piercings “may not heal well due to the constant use of the hands and the risk of the jewelry getting snagged or bumped.”
“A dermal piercing may be a better option, but it can still reject over time,” the company warns.
Noticing a red bump close by West’s piercing, one critic wrote via Reddit, “Oof that looks like it’s infected!!”
“Who the f–k lets their 12 year old have piercings? And who the f–k pierces a 12 year old? My kid didn’t even have her ears pierced at 12,” the user continued.
“She’s 12. Wtf is Kim doing?!” another chimed in.
“It already looks rejected and painful … Poor girl,” a third wrote, as a fourth added, “I am speechless.”
One person, however, defended Kardashian, 44, writing, “Who cares, I think it’s a good compromise if your child wants a piercing.”
Reps for the TV personality weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
During the same outing, the “Kardashians” star was called out for allowing North to step out in a corset and mini skirt.
The mother-daughter duo turned heads when leaving the hotspot Pierluigi located at the Piazza de’ Ricci.
Several critics labeled North’s outfit as “inappropriate,” while another urged Kardashian to “preserve her [daughter’s] innocence and be more mindful about her wardrobe.”
However, some rushed to the businesswoman’s defense, with one writing, “The judgment is wild, wild, y’all need to look at yourselves and stop worrying about her.”
