Bollywood actress, Esha Deol stunned everyone in February 2024 when she announced her separation from her husband, Bharat Takhtani, after 11 years of marriage. Fans were left stunned when the pair, in a joint statement, spoke of their separation in a graceful manner. However, the latest reports reveal that Dharmendra was battling with the news and was extremely upset knowing about the separation of his daughter.
Dharmendra wanted Esha Deol to reconsider her divorce decision
A report by Bollywood Life has surfaced where Dharmendra shared of being sad with Esha’s decision to separate from Bharat. He was struggling with the news, and the actor, who is known for loving his family, hoped that Esha and Bharat might reconsider their decision. The couple termed their separation as a mutual decision after 11 years, but Dharmendra was deeply affected. A source close to the publication stated:
“No parents can be happy seeing their children’s family being broken. Even Dharmendra ji is a father and one can understand his pain. It’s not that he is against his daughter’s decision to get separated but what’s her to rethink over it.”
Dharmendra was concerned about the emotional impact of Esha Deol’s divorce on her kids
Dharmendra was primarily concerned about Esha and Bharat’s two children being affected by the decision and believed it would have an emotional impact on them. That was the reason he wanted his kids to reconsider the separation decision, as Esha and Bharat are parents to two daughters- Radhya and Miraya. The insider told the publication and mentioned that Dharmendra’s grandkids are close to them. The source shared:
“He is indeed sad, and that’s the reason he wants them to reconsider getting separated. Esha and Bharat have two daughters, Radhya and Miraya. They are very close to their grandparents, paternal and maternal. Separation affects the kids badly and hence Dharamji feels if the marriage can be saved, they should.”
Dharmendra, as a family man, was only concerned about the emotional health of his two small grandkids, who love their dada, dadi, nani, and nani equally. Esha and Bharat never disclosed the reason for their separation, but they got divorced with mutual respect. Their earlier joint statement, as revealed in their post, made it clear that the welfare of their children after the separation was of utmost importance. It read:
“We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected.”
