Suki Waterhouse Says ’70s Hair Is Not Just For Summer

As something of a queen of curtain bangs, Suki Waterhouse is used to inspiring major hair envy. And whether she’s on a stage at indie venues in London performing her viral hit “Good Looking,” or walking an international red carpet, she always maintains her signature “groupie” style.

Promoting her new film Broken English—a documentary about the late singer and actress Marianne Faithfull, who passed away earlier this year—at Venice Film Festival, Waterhouse debuted her shaggiest, most ’70s-inspired haircut yet.

The actor’s wispy, dirty blonde hair was worn loose and flicked ever so slightly inwards, and her artfully unruly bangs were styled in chunky, gappy sections, to allow her smoky eyeliner to peek through. It all harked back to her performance in Daisy Jones and the Six, which was set in the 1970s, a time when hair “was all about soft hot rollers and brushed out curls,” as celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel previously told British Vogue when the show aired.

To try the look out at home, start by brushing out your roots, he said at the time. “Then bring out your hot rollers to create that airy bounce from the eyebrow to your ends.”
