Sara Ali Khan took part in the Ganga Aarti at Varanasi’s famous Dashashwamedh Ghat on Saturday evening. Wearing a simple ethnic dress and hardly any makeup, the actor looked just like any other devotee as she joined in the prayers.
Members of the Ganga Seva Nidhi, including President Sushant Mishra, extended a traditional welcome to the ‘Kedarnath’ actor by presenting her with an angavastra and prasad.
Sharing glimpses from her visit on Instagram, Sara captioned her post, “Jai Kashi Vishwanath. Har Har Mahadev (sic)”
Take a look at the post:
Since her debut with ‘Kedarnath’ in 2018, Sara has often visited temples and religious sites, from Kedarnath to Varanasi.
On the work front, Sara is currently filming ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’ opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in Prayagraj. However, the shoot recently faced a setback when a group of locals allegedly turned aggressive, disrupting filming and assaulting crew members. While the exact cause of the confrontation remains uncertain, the incident has raised concerns about security during public location shoots.
After the complaint was filed by the film’s team, police arrested the accused on Friday. Additional DCP (City) Abhijeet Kumar said the incident took place on August 27 during the shoot on Thornhill Road in Prayagraj. After production head Zoheb Solapurwala was assaulted, line producer Saurabh Tiwari from BR Chopra Films lodged a complaint on August 28 at Civil Lines Police Station. As per a PTI report, the main accused, Meraj Ali, has now been taken into custody.
