Yes, that is exactly what you will get to see in Netflix’s The Thursday Murders Club. Who killed ‘Tony Curran’ and ‘Angela Hughes’?
The Thursday Murder Club begins when ‘Elizabeth’, ‘Ron’, ‘Ibrahim’, and newcomer ‘Joyce’ come across a decades-old murder mystery. It marks the beginning of a tale filled with dangerous secrets, betrayals, and shocking truths. When ‘Penny’ brings them the files to solve the case of ‘Peter’, who thinks a masked man killed his girlfriend, ‘Angela Hughes’, after throwing her. But before the case could be solved, a new corpse of ‘Tony’, one of the co-owners of Coopers Chase retirement village, was found dead.
Initially, everyone suspects ‘Bobby’ to be the killer due to his shady past, but soon ‘Elizabeth’s instincts lead her to ‘Bogdan’, who worked as ‘Tony’s employee. He is haunted that his passport might be taken and incriminate him for a crime, insisting that it was a mistake. Soon, the truth is out when ‘Stephen’, Elizabeth’s husband, battling dementia, unknowingly records Bogdan’s confession.
Moving back to the murder of ‘Angela Hughes’ in 1973, they realise how ‘Peter Mercer’ was never questioned in the case. But former police officer and club’s founder, ‘Penny’, had always doubted him. Years later, Peter’s skeleton is unearthed near Coopers Chase, and forensic evidence confirms ‘Penny’ was right, Peter had killed his girlfriend. However, the twist comes when everyone comes to know that ‘Penny’ killed ‘Peter’ to deliver justice with the help of her husband, ‘John’.

Who Killed ‘Ian Ventham’?
The deaths don’t stop there. ‘Ian Ventham’, the second co-owner of Coopers Chase, dies after he finds Peter Mercer’s buried bones while trying to expand his property. It is later revealed that to protect his ailing wife, ‘Penny’, ‘John’ had poisoned ‘Ian’ with fentanyl, creating further turmoil for The Thursday Murder Club.
What happens with ‘John’ and ‘Penny’?
When Elizabeth’ finds the truth behind the murders, ‘John’ admits his crime but tries to reason that he did everything for love. His wife, ‘Penny’, who is already bedridden after a stroke, is unaware of the whole situation. ‘John’ refuses to go to prison and is determined to stay by ‘Penny’ while her health declines. At the end, ‘John’ takes a shocking decision to kill himself and ‘Penny’ with a fatal dose of fentanyl, and they both meet their end peacefully. The film closes with the Thursday Murder Club members attending their funeral, reflecting on love, justice, and the secrets people take to the grave.
