Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty paid tribute to the late legendary actress Sridevi by embracing her Chandni look in a stunning yellow chiffon saree. Taking to Instagram, Shilpa shared a reel showcasing herself in the vibrant saree during a photoshoot. She paired the visuals with the instrumental title track of the 1989 film Chandni, which originally featured Sridevi and Rishi Kapoor.

Shilpa captioned the post, calling it “My Ode to my forever OG Sriji #Chandni #ChandniVibes #icon #sridevi.”

Chandni, a romantic drama directed by Yash Chopra, features Sridevi in the lead role of Chandni Mathur, a lively young woman caught in a love triangle with characters played by Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna. The film’s ensemble cast also includes Waheeda Rehman, Anupam Kher, Sushma Seth, Mita Vashisht, and Manohar Singh.

Following a string of unsuccessful action films, Yash Chopra shifted gears to create a romantic musical — a project that showcased the signature “Yash Chopra style.” The film highlighted a heroine-centric narrative, blending romance and emotion with soulful music, beautifully shot in scenic foreign locales.

The film narrates the journey of Chandni and her fiancé Rohit, who is left paralysed after an accident. Moving to Mumbai, Chandni finds herself in another emotional conflict when her boss Lalit falls in love with her, and later Rohit returns seeking her affection once again.

On the work front, Shilpa Shetty was last seen in Sukhee, a light-hearted slice-of-life drama about a woman who rediscovers her teenage spirit over the span of seven transformative days, ultimately undergoing the biggest change of her life.

Up next, Shilpa will appear in KD: The Devil, a Kannada action drama directed by Prem. The film features Dhruva Sarja in the lead, with a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, and Nora Fatehi.
