It’s the era of cinematic universes and one of the biggest of Indian Cinema is the Rohit Shetty cop universe. Its first film, Singham (2011), starred Ajay Devgn and Sudhanshu Pandey, who was seen in a cameo. However, it was memorable as his character, Rakesh Kadam, drives the story forward. Rakesh dies, leaving behind his wife Megha (Sonali Kulkarni) and son Nitin (Agastya Dhanorkar).

Bollywood Hungama spoke exclusively with Sudhanshu in June about The Traitors. This writer asked him if the actor could return to the cop universe. Maybe Rohit Shetty can show that Nitin has grown up and that role can be played by none other than Sudhanshu Pandey!
On this, Sudhanshu Pandey paused for a few seconds and then said, “Yeh idea toh aapne bahut accha diya hai. I never thought of that (laughs)! But it’s a fantastic idea. I’d love to do that.”
When reminded that he had a crucial role in beginning this cinematic universe, Sudhanshu agreed, “Yes, the franchise only started with me. If I meet Rohit Shetty, I’ll 100% share this idea with him. I must tell him (smiles).”
When asked about his next projects, Sudhanshu Pandey said, “I have had a lot of offers, but I am now looking forward to stepping up in a big way. I want to come back with a film or OTT series which can position me in a different space altogether. I have been in this space for four years (with Anuapamaa). The character has been iconic and people have loved it. Now, I want to play something else and do something special again. I am just waiting for that to happen.”
Does he have plans to turn director or screenwriter? The actor replied, “As of now, I only write poetry on a regular basis. But I haven’t written any scripts. Direction may happen somewhere down the line. As a producer, I have a lot of things on my mind. I will be producing. I am 100% sure I’ll be producing.”
Sudhanshu Pandey and his Band Of Boys members recently came up with a new song, which has been quite loved. It also features Asha Bhosle. The actor-singer confessed that there are plans for a concert, “We are releasing songs only because of this reason, so that we can start touring. We started with a concert. My comeback with Band Of Boys happened at Jio World Garden, BKC, Mumbai, at Nostalgia Festival earlier this year. That’s where we performed and people loved it. That is how we decided that we should plan an India tour. Plans have begun and soon, things will start falling in place.”
