Lionsgate has revealed the exact dates the hit Twilight Saga will make its epic return to theaters.
The production company previously teased on social media on Wednesday that the beloved vampire pics, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, would be rereleased in theaters in October. Lionsgate shared a graphic that read, “Forever Begins Again,” and hinted that more details would be revealed on Thursday.
Well, those details have finally been unveiled and the Twilight Saga — consisting of Twilight (2008), New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011) and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012) — will return to theaters nationwide from Fathom Entertainment Oct. 29 to Nov. 2, with a film playing each day.
In honor of the 20th anniversary of the publication of author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight, each movie will also include approximately 10 minutes of roundtable panel discussions with Meyers; producer Wyck Godfrey; Gillian Bohrer, former Lionsgate co-president, production; Erik Feig, former co-president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group; and producer Karen Rosenfelt.
“Twilight fans are some of the most passionate anywhere, making this iconic movie franchise the epitome of a modern-day classic which Fathom Entertainment is thrilled to help bring back to the big screen in this special cinematic engagement,” said Ray Nutt, chief executive officer, Fathom Entertainment. “With our partners at Lionsgate, we celebrate 20 years since Stephenie Meyer’s first Twilight book was published and encourage fans to relish The Twilight Saga.”
In addition, Warner Music Group is set to rerelease the Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse movie soundtracks on Oct. 31. And the first-ever national tour, Twilight in Concert, is also coming to 60 cities across the U.S. from Sept. 12 to Nov. 30.
The film franchise, based on author Stephenie Meyer’s books of the same name, revolves around the love story of Bella Swan (Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Pattinson) and their relationship as Bella discovers Edward is a vampire. However, their love is tested by other vampires, werewolves and her friendship with Jacob (Lautner), who is also a werewolf.
Across all five films, the franchise grossed over $3.3 billion worldwide, in addition to launching Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner into stardom. Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Justin Chon, Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and Sarah Clarke also starred.
The Twilight Saga has continued to be so cherished by fans, even nearly two decades after the first film was released, that an animated TV reboot is also in the works.
