South superstar, Dhanush was earlier married to Aishwarya Rajinikanth. While it was an arranged marriage fixed by their families, rumours were rife that they were in love before they even knew each other. However, they parted ways in 2023, and in 2024, they got officially divorced. Now, Dhanush is reportedly dating Mrunal Thakur, and the buzz surrounding their relationship re-ignited with the former’s IG post.
Dhanush shares identical holiday pictures as Mrunal Thakur
Recently, Dhanush took to his Instagram handle and posted a monochrome but blurry picture. It featured the superstar enjoying some leisure time by the beach side with mountains that looked blurry. The hazy shot suited Dhanush’s mysterious personality. Sharing the photo, he wrote:
“Accidental magic is the best creation.”
However, to everyone’s surprise, Mrunal Thakur was the first one to like the picture. Not only this, fans even noticed that Mrunal had earlier shared similar pictures. A user on Reddit wrote how they were together and vacationed in Mykonos. While the authenticity of the post cannot be determined. The user claimed that they shared identical pictures.
When Mrunal Thakur reacted to her relationship news with Dhanush
A report by Only Kollywood, claimed that Mrunal, in a recent interview, addressed the dating claims with Dhanush. She went on to say that it is funny as Dhanush attended the event as it was Ajay Devgan who invited him. She was quoted as say
“Dhanush is just a good friend to me. I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it. Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him.”
Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur’s love story
Earlier, a report by News18 Showsha reavealed that Mrunal and Dhanush fell in love despite their busy schedules. Mrunal, who was shooting down in South, found solace in Dhanush. The report further stated that the source confirmed that the two are dating. The source said:
“Yes, it’s true that they are dating. But it’s too new and they’ve no plans of making their relationship official before the public or the media. At the same time, they’re unfazed about going out and about and being spotted. Friends are truly rooting for them as they’re quite similar and compatible when it comes to their values, choices and thoughts.”
Talking about their first meeting, the source revealed that Mrunal was busy shuttling for work between Mumbai and Hyderabad. It was during an event in the south where she met Dhanush for the first time. Soon, they felt a connection and their friendship blossomed into love. The source shared:
“The success of Sita Ramam opened doors for Mrunal in the South film industry. She has simultaneously been working in Mumbai too. Mrunal, who is currently shooting for Dacoit: A Love Story with Adivi Sesh, keeps shuttling between Mumbai and Hyderabad, and it’s during an event down south where she met Dhanush.”
The source further revealed that onlookers noticed Mrunal and Dhanush’s closeness during the premiere of Kajol’s film, Maa, in June 2025. Later, Dhanush’s name in Mrunal’s guest list for the premiere of Son Of Sardaar 2 intensified their dating buzz.
