Streams on Taylor Swift‘s song “So High School” jumped nearly 400 percent on Spotify since the superstar announced her engagement to Travis Kelce yesterday, the streaming service confirmed Tuesday morning.
Swift used the Tortured Poets Department song — rumored to be about her now-fiancé — as the sound in her engagement announcement on Instagram Monday, instantly driving fans to listen to the song again.
Spotify didn’t disclose how many streams the song got overall, just the percentage bump. Spotify also didn’t disclose numbers on other Swift songs, though Swift has written more than her share of love songs over her nearly two-decade career, and spikes for other classics like “Love Story,” “You Belong With Me” and “Lover” wouldn’t be particularly surprising.
Swift and Kelce revealed their engagement on Monday, around two years after the power couple started dating back in 2023. Their relationship instantly garnered significant media attention, with Swift frequently attending Kelce’s football games, while Kelce attended several of Swift’s Eras Tour dates, joining as a surprise guest on stage at one of her London shows in 2024.
The internet was set ablaze from the engagement to the ring itself, which diamond experts estimated to be worth as much as $1 million.
Swift and Kelce spoke about their relationship during Swift’s appearance on the New Heights podcast this month, where Swift also unveiled an Oct. 3 release date for her upcoming 12th album The Life of a Showgirl.
“This felt more like I was in an ‘80s John Hughes movie and he was just like, standing outside of my window with a boombox,” Swift said on the show. “I was like ‘if this guy isn’t crazy,’ this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”
