Popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, has sparked online backlash after criticising Rolling Stone’s new digital creators list. The magazine placed him at number seven, while comedian and actor Caleb Hearon ranked higher despite having a smaller following.

MrBeast vented his frustration on X, posting: “According to this list, a guy with 1 million followers is more influential than me. What did I do to piss off Rolling Stone?” Though he deleted the post soon after, screenshots spread quickly, igniting heated reactions across platforms.

As reported by Mandatory, critics accused the YouTuber of dismissing Hearon’s influence beyond follower counts. One user on X wrote, “Sorry, Jimmy, Caleb has something you’ll never have: a personality.” Another added, “MrBeast coming for Caleb Hearon is so funny because it’s like yeah, of course he’s more influential – he’s genuinely funny and likable.”

While many criticised him, some fans defended the YouTube sensation. They argued that with over 200 million subscribers, record-breaking views, and large-scale projects, his reach and cultural impact remain unmatched. Supporters said Rolling Stone undervalued his global influence.

Following the uproar, MrBeast issued a follow-up post, softening his stance. “Ngl, after this I watched some of his stuff and it’s actually good. I deleted the tweet. I don’t want the smoke from the shooters, spare me plz,” he wrote.
