Coco Gauff is often in a rush. Like right now, when she’s on her way to practice for the US Open—but is still finding time to share her beauty secrets with Vogue.
The 2025 French Open winner says that she tends to wake up 15 minutes before she has to be somewhere. As such, her morning skin-care routine is done in a flash, though there’s one step that Gauff will never hurry through.
After moisturizing with her “holy grail,” the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion, Gauff devotes a moment to UV protection. Wielding a bottle of La Roche-Posay Anthelios Light Fluid Sunscreen, the 21-year-old says: “This sunscreen is the best. Being a woman with darker skin, it’s hard to find sunscreens that don’t leave that whitecast on your face. This doesn’t do that, and it also doesn’t leave you super-greasy.”
As she smooths the French fluid into her face and neck, Gauff says: “One thing about me: When I’m 50 years old, I want to be looking like I’m 30. So I try to make sure I put the sunscreen on, and I reapply basically after every practice or every two hours.” And don’t forget to dab some on behind the ears, Gauff warns, and onto the back of the hands if you’re driving (or serving.)
While she’s counting on the sunscreen to preserve her glow for decades, the former US Open champion also has a two-dot tip for looking vibrant in the moment. “This product changed my life,” she says, referring to Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in the rosy Worth hue. “Selena Gomez made me a blush girl.” After tapping a couple of dots into each cheek and blending it in with her fingers, Gauff tops the liquid with a swirl of E.l.f’s bright-pink powder blush. “And now the blush is poppin’,” she says. “This is my new favorite step.” Apart from winning matches, of course—and that’s what Gauff intends for her next step.
With her skin care and makeup intact, the Atlanta native reveals her final secret of the day. “You guys don’t know this, but we’re currently at Arthur Ashe Stadium,” she says, laughing. And after waving farewell from the bleachers, she’s off to smash the day.
