Bollywood actor, Saif Ali Khan, was stabbed six times by Bangladeshi resident, Shariful Fakir, at his Satguru Sharan residence in Bandra back in January 2025. He had to undergo an emergency operation at Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, and after six days, he walked out of the hospital like a lion. At one end, many questioned how the actor recovered so quickly, and on the other side, Saif’s sister, Soha, spoke about the aftermath of the incident. She recalled how a similar attack had also taken place at her house.
Saif Ali Khan’s sister, Soha, remembers the robbery incident that took place at her home
Saif had made it a point not to take any assistance while walking out of the hospital. The aftermath of the incident left a mark on the hearts and minds of the Khan family. Soha sat down for an interview with Zoom and shared that not many know that her own house had a robbery attack when her father passed away in 2011. Soha remembered how her then-boyfriend and now husband, Kunal Kemmu, got the thief. Soha shared that she just felt that Mumbai is a safe city, and she has felt very safe growing up. In her words:
“Kunal was there and he caught the thief and he was convicted. I just thought it was strange. But it’s all on my mother to have two children whose homes was being broken into. You can’t think like acha mere saath bhi hua hai and aapke saath bhi hua hai. This is something to think about. I think the best way to think, heal from it is what my brother said in the interview. It was very unfortunate, terrifying that it happened but when you think about it, it was the best possible outcome.”
Soha Ali Khan reveals how amping security systems are important
Soha had earlier revealed that Saif had reacted to the negativity related to his quick recovery, and in the recent interview shared that he was injured from the attack but had a safe 100% recovery. She shared that the trauma was not visible on the surface level and also spoke about the improvements in the security system. Soha added:
“Those scars are not visible. That will take time and we will process it differently. Of course he is family to me, he is my brother but the full city sits up and sees something that happens to a public figure. Society is all over saying how do we improve the security, we need CCTV cameras, need to improve our sense of security and block all our weak and vulnerable points.”
Soha Ali Khan reveals the experience learnt from the robbery incident
Soha, earlier in an interview with Amar Ujala, shared that it did anger her when people commented on her brother’s situation without having any information. She shared that they were emotionless and passionate opinions need not come out of the same mouth. Well, Soha recently also shared that in today’s time, if incidents like robbery are happening in metropolitan cities, then it is something we need to sit up and take notice. She shared that if the incident had happened now, there is no guarantee that it would not happen in the future. Soha also shared that the processing of information for adults is different, and for Kareena and Saif’s kids, Tairmur and Jeh Ali Khan, the processing of what happened is a different ballgame.
