Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce kept their engagement under wraps for a while, Page Six has learned.
A source exclusively tells us Tuesday that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end actually proposed to the pop superstar “a couple of weeks ago.” The exact date of the proposal is not immediately known.
Swift and Kelce, both 35, did not go public with their engagement news, however, until Tuesday.
The NFL star and Grammy winner cheekily captioned a joint post via Instagram, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨.”
The slideshow also featured images of Kelce getting down on one knee in a beautiful garden to pop the question with an old mine brilliant-cut sparkler that was co-designed by Kindred Lubec.
The post was set to Swift’s track, “So High School,” which the songstress has confirmed she wrote about her now-fiancé.
Page Six has also learned that Kelce’s family members learned about the engagement long before the power couple shared the news with their fans.
We’re told the Kelces are all “happy” and “thrilled” to officially welcome Swift into their family.

Travis and Swift have been dating since the summer of 2023 after the Super Bowl champ made it known on his “New Heights” podcast that he wanted to meet Swift on her Eras Tour and give her his number.
The “Lover” singer shared on her record-breaking episode of the Wondery podcast recently that she felt the pro athlete’s “wild romantic gesture” was like an ’80s John Hughes movie.
“He threw a tantrum. He threw a man-tantrum,” she joked.
“It was such a wild romantic gesture to be like, ‘I wanna date you!’ This dude didn’t get a meet-and-greet and he’s making it everyone’s problem. That’s what I thought at first.”
Swift then gushed, “I was like if this guy isn’t crazy, um, which is a big if, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager.”
It’s unclear whether that “New Heights” episode was taped before or after Travis proposed.
Reps for the podcast, Swift, Travis and Kelce family did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
