Actor Karanvir Sharma returns to OTT with a notable presence in the newly released trailer of The Trial: Season 2. Last seen in a legal drama with A Thursday, he joined Kajol and the rest of the cast at today’s trailer launch event, where his performance in the promo drew attention.
Karanvir Sharma recalls first scene with Kajol in The Trial Season 2; says, “She is so grounded and humble”
Karanvir Sharma takes on the role of Param Munjal, a sharp and ambitious new partner at the law firm where Kajol’s character, Noyonika, works. In the trailer, he comes across as a charismatic figure whose entry is set to change dynamics, spark conflicts, and influence the balance of power in the story. He is first introduced to Noyonika at a party, before crossing paths with her again in an office setting to discuss a case.
Speaking about stepping into the series at the launch, Karanvir said, “This role gave me a chance to step into uncharted territory as an actor, and that’s always exciting. Param Munjal is layered, ambitious, and someone who thrives in grey areas, which makes him fascinating to play. It was challenging to bring out those complexities, but under the direction of Umesh Bisht sir, I found the right rhythm. I’m really looking forward to how audiences will respond to this fresh dynamic in fresh season of The Trial.”
Karanvir is all praise for the show’s leading Kajol and recalled his first scene with him, “Kajol made it so comfortable for me. I had my first scene with her and I didn’t had any interaction with her before that I want to thank Kajol for that because after so many years of super stardom and being such a phenomenal actor she is so grounded, humble and the kind of compassion she had is something that is infectious I love it.”
With the trailer already generating buzz, Karanvir’s entry is set to add a new layer to the narrative — from power dynamics within the firm to unexpected developments in Noyonika’s professional and personal journey.
With a strong ensemble cast and gripping drama, The Trial: Season 2 is shaping up to be among the most anticipated OTT releases of the year, with Karanvir Sharma’s performance already standing out as a key highlight.
This marks Karanvir’s fourth collaboration with Hotstar, following his work in Girl in the City, Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahaani, and A Thursday.
