Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch Talk Karaoke and Injuring Themselves at Work in the Latest ‘Off the Cuff’

Would it surprise you to learn that Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch make an extremely endearing duo? Not really, right?

The two British actors may play sparring spouses in The Roses—Jay Roach’s remake of Danny DeVito’s The War of the Roses, which starred Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas in 1989—but they prove to be a totally harmonious (and hilarious) pair in the latest episode of Off the Cuff.

Over four rollicking rounds of rapid-fire questions, Cumberbatch shares his most recent Google search (“‘hyperbaric chamber’… don’t ask”) and his signature karaoke song (“Young Americans” by David Bowie); Colman reveals her most proudly held yet useless talent (she can make an… evocative sound with her hands, let’s just say) and what she’d do first if she and her co-star were to trade bodies (that one also involves a bodily function, actually). Then they both swap stories about on-set injuries and slightly go to pieces talking about Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Irish actress Jessie Buckley (though Cumberbatch, ahem, has to reach for her name a little).

Needless to say, it’s all delightful, delicious stuff. Watch the full thing above—and catch The Roses, co-starring Kate McKinnon, Andy Samberg, Ncuti Gatwa, and Sunita Mani, in theaters starting August 29.
