Everybody one, two step… all the way back to 2010.
In her new music video for “Dance With Me” featuring Tyga, Ciara is resurrecting one of the wildest shoes of her career: a pair of Converse sneakers affixed with sky-high, Pleasers-style lucite heels.
The frankenshoe is a throwback to a style she wore in her “Gimme Dat” video 15 years ago, except today’s version is bubblegum pink instead of black — all the better to match her pink vintage Cadillac.
In the new video — released in tandem with her eighth studio album, “CiCi” — Ciara pairs the stiletto heels with head-to-toe pink: silk bandana, baseball cap, utility shirt and baggy pants.
Fans of the 39-year-old’s boundary-pushing choreography will remember her stomping and winding through an empty lot in the original pair, turning the sneaker-turned-heels into a fashion artifact.
Fast-forward to 2025, and the “Body Party” singer is giving the shoe its second act.
Ciara has spoken before about her willingness to ignore the critics and embrace polarizing fashion styles.
“I’ve come a long way when it comes to being affected by what people have to say,” she told Page Six last year. “Opinions don’t matter; they really don’t. If you feel good about what you chose to wear, that’s all that matters.”
The footwear in “Dance With Me” isn’t the only callback to her earlier video: Tyga wears a bedazzled Atlanta Braves hat that’s nearly identical to the one Ciara puts on in “Gimme Dat” at the line “I’m gonna put on my crown.”
“CiCi” is the pop star’s first album in six years — she’s been busy as a mom of four with husband and New York Giants quarterback Russell Wilson — and her second on her own label, Beauty Marks Entertainment.
The shoe revival may be a reclamation of sorts, given the complicated history of “Gimme Dat” as it was originally featured on 2010’s “Basic Instinct.”
Shortly after its release, the singer wrote a Facebook post to her fans explaining that her label had left her hanging with the album release and single promotion, and that she was asking to be released from her contract.
Today, she’s strutting away in victory — in eight-inch lucite heels.
