Margot Robbie returned to the spotlight in all black for a photo call for Sony Pictures’ “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey” at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills on Wednesday. The “Barbie” star arrived at the press event and posed alongside her costar Colin Farrell, wearing a pair of strappy black sandals from Alaïa that completely caged her foot.

Her shoes for the event were a pair of open-toed sandals that featured five glossy leather straps that went across the upper all the way up to her ankle. A final strap wrapped around her ankle, securing the shoe in place with a silver metal rectangle buckle.

Robbie’s stylist, Andrew Mukamal, shared a behind-the-scenes snap of the actress giving a clearer look at her shoes. His photo revealed that the sandals featured an almond-toe silhouette, and other photos of Robbie at the event show that the shoes also had a needle-thin heel measuring around four to five inches.

Robbie went monochrome with her look for the photo call, wearing a black Stella McCartney resort 2026 dress. The minidress featured a corset-like bodice, a deep V-neckline and a sleeveless design. She paired the look with Jessica McCormack jewelry.

Alaïa’s shoe designs have been her go-to footwear this summer after being spotted wearing the Alaïa Ballet Fishnet Flats in both black and gold during several outings. She was also spotted out and about in Los Angeles wearing The Row’s Elastic Ballet Slipper in black leather in July. The actress has been on a brief hiatus after her film “Barbie” was released in 2023 and welcomed a child in November.

Now she’s back in the public eye to promote her upcoming film “A Big Bold Beautiful Journey,” in which she stars alongside Farrell. The movie follows two single strangers, Sarah and David, who, through a surprising twist of fate, get to relive important moments from their respective pasts together, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present. The film arrives in theaters on Sept. 19.
