Venus Williams served style on the court in a custom Khaite tennis kit for her opening mixed doubles match at the 2025 U.S. Open alongside American player Reilly Opelka on Tuesday in New York City.
The trailblazing seven-time Grand Slam champion wore a navy and white kit, featuring a classic tennis dress silhouette with cap short sleeves and a square neckline. The navy tone featured prominently throughout, while white trim featured at the neckline, sleeves and hem of the dress.

Khaite’s design also subtly nodded to the peekaboo bra layering trend, revitalized in 2024 by such stars as Katie Holmes, Kristen Stewart and more. The New York City-based luxury womenswear brand also outfitted Williams with a custom white visor. Williams capped off her tennis kit with a pair of crisp white Lacoste sneakers.
Williams’ tennis kit marks Khaite’s initial foray into the world of sports. With Williams, however, fashion has always played a key role in the tennis player’s style on and off the court. The venerated athlete has been a Lacoste ambassador since 2022, collaborating with the French brand on several pieces.

At the 2025 Met Gala, Williams brought tennis core to the red carpet, wearing a custom Lacoste look. “Dressing Venus Williams was a profound privilege. She is a trailblazer: a tennis legend, a fashion icon and a powerful voice for women,” Lacoste creative director, Pelagia Kolotouros, told WWD.
A longtime front row attendee of Lacoste’s fashion shows, the brand also collaborated with the athlete and Williams’ EleVen by Venus brand. The collaborative collection launched in November 2023, featuring various tennis-inspired apparel items.
