Dakota Johnson continued her Gucci streak on Tuesday night while celebrating the premiere of her new movie “Splitsville” in Los Angeles, switching from the floor-length silver gown she wore on the red carpet to a shorter green dress for the after party, which was paired with sleek black pumps constructed with an alternative silhouette.

Johnson’s after party look hailed from the Gucci fall 2025 collection. The brand presented a distinctive heel style on the Milan runway in February in multiple iterations, from a black pump like the one Johnson showcased to a gray mule version. The look is distinguished by a higher-than-normal vamp with a narrow V outline plunging toward the pointed toe.
While many colors were modeled in the show, patent leather was a common theme in the women’s shoes (though a wild furry creation did walk the runway as well). Johnson’s shoe style can also be seen in the Gucci fall 2025 campaign, which is a portrait portfolio of 42 people.

Johnson’s heels accompanied a long-sleeve, open-back silk georgette dress featuring embroidered paillettes; the garment was done in a forest green shade.
Miles Socha reviewed the Gucci fall 2025 show for WWD, writing, “The women’s collections hinged on ladylike dressing tinged with subversion: so a lacy slip and bra top went under a boxy wool coat, and glossy accessories in offbeat colors fed a good taste/bad taste dichotomy.”
Gucci isn’t the only brand exploring nontraditional heel silhouettes. Proenza Schouler, for example, has its Glove Heels, featuring a rounded high-cut vamp, and Givenchy, Charles & Keith and more labels have gone for the higher vamp look as well.
