Sean McLaughlin’s father, Steven McLaughlin, is a well-known politician, which has led viewers to believe that Sean may use his father’s experience in his pre-rose ceremony strategy in the upcoming episode of Bachelor in Paradise. For the unversed, Sean’s father, Steven, is a former Republican New York State Representative/Assemblyman. He served in the office between 2011 and 2017. However, his career, like many others, was filled with several career controversies.
However, there was one controversy that stood out in his past and still looms over his political career. Steven McLaughlin was once disciplined for sexual harassment. According to a report by The New York Times, Stevens never made any public statements about the matter, and not much information is known about what happened. However, the speculations were enough to draw the world’s attention to him, and not in the best way possible. The 61-year-old politician was born in Boston, Massachusetts.
Steven McLaughlin is currently serving as the County Executive of Rensselaer County, New York. According to his County Executive bio, before politics, Steven was a banker and a pilot for America West Airlines and U.S. Airways. He also attended the Florida Institute of Technology and earned commercial and instrument aircraft ratings. Stevens further studied finance at Arizona State University, and he earned a B.A. degree from Empire State College (State University of New York).
