Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the queen of Bollywood. No matter whether she stars in films or not, her single appearances in a year are enough to leave the country go gaga. Recently, Aishwarya tried to leave a social impact on people of all ages with he empowering social message, on how everyone is ‘worth it’. But fans didn’t like her approach, and they trolled her.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan receives backlash for giving a social message on self-worth
In a new advertisement for a famous brand, Aishwarya gave out a social message about self-worth. She refused to let likes or social media chatter define her worth, and asked her viewers to believe it too. Aishwarya went on to address the growing influence of social media. She beautifully explained how likes, comments, and external approval don’t define a person’s worth. She said:
“I’m worth it, but what really decides that? The kind of pictures posted? The number of likes? Or is it the comments on social media? We have given such power to these things. The power to own our worth.”
Aishwarya further expressed the grave concern as a mother and a woman on how the newer generation thinks so much about social media pressure. She addressed the power this pressure has on young minds and impressionable adults. The beauty queen further emphasised how we cannot let this go on, and make a choice.
Aishwarya urged people not to search for their self-worth elsewhere, especially on social media. She ended the video by assuring people that they are all worth it and they should believe it every day.

Internet reacts to Aishwarya’s strong message
The Internet loved seeing Aishwarya in front of a camera, all dolled up in a black outfit. One user wrote, “She’s definitely worth it! I also love how L’Oréal has still retained Aishwarya even though the younger crop of actresses comes and goes. The respect and standing this brand gives her is such a welcome change!”
While Aishwarya’s appearance in a new video with a social message was loved by all, some pointed out how it wasn’t right for her to preach it. One user pointed out her alleged beauty treatments, and wrote, “Yeah, exactly, and she’s definitely worth it with Botox and fillers as her age progressed is another layer to ..yes, I’m worth it, but with these additions..”
Another netizen commented, “Love Aish, but irony here is that she too has given into societal expectations with too obvious botox, fillers, and edited pictures. Now preaching something she didn’t quite follow. Le sigh.” A fourth one penned, “You speak about self-acceptance and rejecting beauty standards, yet you’ve had Botox and fillers, post heavily filtered videos, and endorse beauty brands that profit from women’s insecurities. The contradiction is hard to ignore, and the uncritical support for such figures reflects a lack of critical thinking. And no she’s not your ‘mother,’ she’s just another person cashing in on the same standards she claims to resist.”
A fifth user commented, “Agreed! The irony of her saying all of this with her face that has so obviously been ‘enhanced’! Why is she not looking for her worth within? And what is the message these heavily botoxed faces send to the young, impressionable minds she is talking about? And before people come at me saying it’s her choice, I have no objections with her making that choice, but then don’t get on a high horse and talk about looking for your worth within yourself.”
