The silhouette featured a broad vamp in mirrored light-gold leather, cut across the toes above a stacked platform base. A block heel, mostly hidden by frayed denim, anchored the design. While the Ryder 95’s ankle strap was not visible beneath the hem, the proportions and finish aligned with the sold-out style. Rae punctuated the look with a white pedicure that stood out against the metallic upper.

She paired the shoes with distressed wide-leg jeans ripped at the knees, a cropped yellow tank and a black belt. Hoops and a slick bun kept accessories pared back. The combination shifted the Ryder 95 away from its evening profile, grounding the mirrored finish in daytime wear.

As an ambassador for the shoe brand, Rae has leaned on gold Stuart Weitzman heels throughout the year. At the Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival earlier this month, she wore the brand’s Georgie 100 sandal in liquid metallic leather, twisting its straps forward for variation. In March, she styled the same pair at SXSW with Christopher John Rogers.

She is not alone in returning to the shiny, Y2K-adjacent silhouette. Keke Palmer paired mirrored stilettos with vintage Versace in June during her “Just Keke” press run, while Taylor Swift favored block-heel Gucci platforms in silver leather weeks earlier in New York. The variations differ — Palmer’s razor-sharp, Swift’s disco-weight — but the effect is consistent: reflective finishes and elevated bases cutting against compact dresses.

At Beverly Center, Rae’s choice read as deliberate contrast. The Ryder 95 is built for statement dressing, yet under torn denim and a tank, it played casual, aligning with the event’s mix of celebration and commerce. Rae hosted the pop-up as part of the mall’s Summer Cool Down Series, spotlighting her own ventures — Sienna Naturals, Viarae and Hilltop Coffee + Kitchen — alongside Black-owned vendors including Kristhetic, Just a Lil Bling and Happy Ice.
