On the August 13 episode of New Heights with boyfriend Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift dropped more than just casual football banter — she announced her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” Between breaking down the cover artwork and combing through the inevitable Easter eggs, we locked in on something else: Taylor Swift’s lipstick color.

Some beauty sleuths are convinced the 14-time Grammy winner was wearing Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in the shade Joy during her appearance on the podcast. But given Swift’s track record (and the noticeably matte finish seen on the singer), we’re betting on a familiar favorite — Nars Lipstick in Morocco

The warm, terracotta hue is a notable shift from her Eras Tour glam go-to — Pat McGrath’s blue-red Elson 4 — but it’s not uncharted territory. Swift’s worn Morocco for Kansas City Chiefs games and beyond, a fact confirmed last year when her longtime makeup artist, Lorrie Turk, shared on Instagram Stories that the shade has been in rotation “for years.” With its rich terracotta base and warm undertones, Morocco flatters Swift’s fair skin and dirty blonde hair while steering clear of the intensity of a true red, or the hard-to-pull-off tone of a true “The Life of a Showgirl” orange.

It does make us wonder if this peachy, earthy neutral is more than just a one-off moment. Could Swift be putting her signature red lipstick shade in the vault — at least for now — as she favors softer hues off stage in this Showgirl era? If the past is any indication, her lipstick choices tend to be as intentional as her album aesthetics, and Nars’ Morocco feels like a deliberate, mood-shifting move.

That said, Swift hasn’t completely left her crimson staples in the rearview. In some of “The Life of a Showgirl” promo imagery, Swift is very much in her classic red lip, proof that shades like Pat McGrath Labs’ Elson 4, MAC’s Ruby Woo, Nars’ Dragon Girl, and Chanel’s Pirate will always remain a defining part of her signature look. “The Life of a Showgirl” cover artwork also shows Swift expanding into new lip color territory, with the singer seemingly coming up for air with a berry-toned, high-gloss smile (try Pat McGrath Labs’ Lip Fetish Divine Lip Shine in Belle Amour for a similar effect).

Nars’ Morocco lipstick, though, plays in a different lane, one that taps into the duality between Swift’s personas on and off the stage. With peachy undertones that echo the colorways splashed across “The Life of a Showgirl” artwork, it channels retro glamour in a softer, more wearable way.

From berry to blue-red to terracotta, Swifties now have a full range of shades to try to emulate the icon. Below, step into your Showgirl era with Nars’ Morocco lipstick, plus more Swift-approved lipstick shades.
