Attorney General Pam Bondi said a Department of Justice employee is out of a job — and facing a felony — after allegedly throwing a sandwich at a federal law enforcement officer in the nation’s capital.

“You will NOT work in this administration while disrespecting our government and law enforcement,” Bondi posted on X on Thursday. “Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony. This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ.”

Prosecutors say Sean Charles Dunn, 37, an international affairs specialist in the DOJ’s criminal division, confronted a US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer on August 10 in northwest Washington. According to court documents, Dunn allegedly pointed his finger at the officer’s face, shouting, “F— you! You f—ing fascists! Why are you here? I don’t want you in my city!”

Minutes later, Dunn allegedly hurled a wrapped sub-style sandwich at the officer, hitting him in the chest. The moment was caught on video by a bystander and quickly went viral online.

Authorities say Dunn tried to flee but was apprehended. At the police station, he allegedly admitted, “I did it. I threw a sandwich.”

Dunn was arrested on one felony count of assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers and employees. He was released on his own recognizance after an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey.

The incident coincided with Trump’s push to flood the city with National Guard troops and federal officers. Trump claims crime in the city has reached emergency levels, but city leaders point to statistics showing violent crime at a 30-year low.

The incident is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
