One of the year’s most anticipated sneaker releases, a reissue of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White x Air Jordan 1, will reportedly no longer arrive in 2025, but there’s still hope that the project could materialize in the near future.
Reports of an Off-White x Air Jordan 1 rerelease in the sneaker’s all-white colorway first surfaced in October and while nearly a full calendar year has passed, in-hand images of the purported release have yet to surface. Said to be nicknamed “Alaska,” the rumored Off-White x Air Jordan 1 is said to take inspiration from Abloh’s original prototype of the sneaker.
The collaboration debuted in 2017 as part of Abloh’s groundbreaking Off-White x Nike “The Ten” collection and featured the Air Jordan 1’s iconic red, black and white “Chicago” colorway. The acclaimed sneaker was named Shoe of the Year at the 2017 FNAAs. But prior to adopting the Chicago Bulls colors, the model was planned for an all-white debut.
Abloh revealed in ’17 that during the design process, he saw someone wearing white Nike Dunks in an airport and decided his Air Jordan 1 would look too similar. A last minute switch was made to the red-based look, but the white pair would eventually be released in 2018 as a European exclusive.

There’s now speculation that the rumored “Alaska” style will either be a reissue of the Europe-exclusive colorway, or potentially a pair that more resembles the prototype versions of the shoe.
Thus far, the Off-White x Air Jordan 1 has been released in three colorways: the aforementioned Chicago and white pairs and a third UNC-themed style inspired by Michael Jordan’s alma mater.
It’s worth noting that the Off-White of today is considerably different from the label founded by Abloh. In 2024, LVMH sold its majority stake in the company to Bluestar Alliance. Given the recent change in ownership, it’s plausible that planned collaborations have been held up behind the scenes.
While the exact details surrounding a potential Off-White x Air Jordan 1 reissue have yet to be determined, release updates are coming in. @KicksFinder reports that the sneaker has been canceled for ’25, adding that it has been removed from Jordan Brand’s holiday release lineup. However, leaker @brandon1an shared an update that rather than an outright cancellation, an early 2026 launch is now expected.
