Jennifer Mistry Baniswal, who played the role of ‘Roshan Sodhi’ in the fan-favourite show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, recently made serious allegations against the producer of the show. The former TMKOC actress accuses producer, Asit Modi of sexually harassing her, among other issues. Amid this, a video of Disha Vakani, who portrayed the role of ‘Dayaben’ in the show, tying Rakhi to Asit Modi has gone viral. Jennifer has reacted to the video and shared her opinions on it.
Jennifer Mistry reacts to Disha Vakani and Asit Modi’s Raksha Bandhan video
Asit Modi, on his official Instagram handle, recently shared a video where Disha Vakani, who played the iconic role of ‘Dayaben’ on his show, was seen tying a Rakhi to his wrist. The actress then tied the sacred thread to the wrist of his wife, Neela Modi as well. Further in the video, Disha tries to touch Asit’s feet for blessings, but he stops her and takes blessings from her instead. Calling the actress his sister, Asit wrote in the caption:
“Kuch rishte kismat banati hai… khoon ka nahi, dil ka naata hota hai! Disha vakani sirf hamari ‘Daya Bhabhi’ nahi, balki meri behan hai. Saalon se hansi, yaadein aur apnapan baant te hue ye rishta screen se kahin aage badh chuka hai. Is Rakhi par, wahi atoot bharosa aur wahi gehra apnapan phir se mehsoos hua… Ye bandhan hamesha yun hi apni mithaas aur mazbooti ke saath bana rahe.”
After leaving TMKOC, Jennifer Mistry had accused Asit Modi of sexually harassing her for years. Amid these accusations, the actress also reacted to the Raksha Bandhan celebration video of Asit and Disha and shared her opinions with Filmygyan. Jennifer asked why it had taken 17 years for the video of Disha Vakani and the producer celebrating Raksha Bandhan to be shared only recently, given their long-standing relationship. Stating that this was done to clear Asit’s image, the actress shared:
“Aaj 17 saal ho gaye. Aaj tak ek bhi photo Disha Asit ji ko Rakhi bante aayi nahi. Iss baar video dala gaya hai. Yeh image ko kaise clear karenge? Aur bola jaa raha hai ki Disha Asit ji ke ghar gayi, Asit ji aur Neela ji Disha ke ghar gaye. Dikh raha tha Disha is very uncomfortable; she is not smiling.”

Jennifer Mistry opened up about the alleged harassment she faced for years at the hands of TMKOC’s producer, Asit Modi. The actress said that he would often make inappropriate remarks under the guise of jokes. Apart from these remarks, Jennifer accused Asit Modi of asking her a vulgar question and trying to kiss her once. On February 15, 2024, the court found the show’s producer guilty of the harassment charges and also ordered him to pay Jennifer a compensation fee along with clearing all her pending dues.
