This redistricting dispute has prompted some Democratic-led states to threaten retaliation, with Governor Newsom suggesting the removal of five Republican-held seats in California.The redistricting conflict in Texas and possibly in other states carries national significance, as it could influence control of the US House of Representatives. The Texas GOP’s proposed map could give Republicans an additional three to five seats in next year’s midterm elections, potentially helping them maintain their narrow majority in the chamber.A spokesperson for California Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas confirmed that draft maps are expected to be released Friday, as reported by ABC News.
