Ashley Biden has filed for divorce from her husband, Dr. Howard Krein, Page Six can confirm.
The daughter of former President Joe Biden and former first lady Jill Biden filed to end her 13-year marriage to the otolaryngologist in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on Monday.
Page Six has reached out to Ashley’s legal team and Dr. Krein for comment.
Following her divorce filing, Ashley, 44, took to her Instagram Stories to seemingly celebrate the news.
The social worker posted an image of herself walking through the park while giving a thumbs-up, per the Philadelphia Inquirer. The now-deleted snap was set to the tune of Beyoncé’s “Freedom.”
She also reportedly reposted a cryptic quote to her Stories along with Lauryn Hill’s “Freedom Time” playing in the background.
“New life, new beginnings means new boundaries. New ways of being that won’t look or sound like they did before,” the quote read.
In June 2012, Ashley and Dr. Krein, 59, tied the knot in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church, the same Greenville, Del., chapel where she was baptized.
The couple combined the bride’s Catholic traditions with the groom’s Jewish ones for the ceremony.
Joe, 82, escorted his daughter, who was dressed in a Vera Wang mermaid gown, down the aisle.
In the days leading up to the nuptials, the then-vice president told People that he wanted to “practice walking up and down the aisle” so he could “handle it.”
Joe also gushed over being able to see his “little girl” on her special day.
“I think to myself, ‘Aw, God, my little girl! This can’t have passed so quick,’” he said.
Joe also shares sons Beau, 56, and Hunter, 55, with his first ex-wife, Neilia Biden. The former couple’s daughter, Naomi, was just a year old when she and her mom, Neilia, died in a car crash in 1972.
