After eight years together, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially engaged. The model and influencer shared the news with her fans on Monday, unveiling a massive oval diamond ring on Instagram.
“Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives,” she captioned the photo in Spanish.
The ring features a 25- to 30-carat oval brilliant, while the stone looks to be modern, jeweler Briony Raymond told WWD. The founder of atelier Briony Raymond New York estimates the ring to be worth from $1.5 million to $5 million, while jeweler Logan Hollowell estimated the price to range somewhere from $2.5 to $5 million.
According to Avi Hiaeve, CEO and founder of Avi & Co., pricing is dependent on color, clarity and fluorescence of the diamond. “If the stone is a colorless white, DEF with VS quality, it would be valued between $2 million and $2.5 million. On the other hand, if it’s VVS or flawless, this stone would be valued between $4 million and $5 million, depending on where it was purchased,” Hiaeve told WWD.
Hollowell described the piece as a classic three-stone setting, with the center stone looking to be flanked by two smaller oval side stones, set in platinum or 18-karat white gold, enhancing the diamond’s natural whiteness. Four double-claw prongs provide security to the center stone while adding a touch of edge to the overall design.
“It is truly an absolute dream and work of art,” Hollowell told WWD. “It has that icy white sparkle that you can see from across the room.”
The design resembles Lauren Sánchez’s engagement ring, which featured a 30-carat cushion-cut ring worth an estimated $2.5 million, as previously reported by WWD. “So happy for you,” Sánchez commented on Rodriguez’s post.
“Georgina’s engagement ring is a stunning example of a few bridal trends we have seen this year — including fancy shape diamonds, ovals and three stone settings,” Annie Chen, senior vice president of merchandising, Brilliant Earth, told WWD.
Although it’s not clear who crafted Rodríguez’s ring, the model is notably a Chopard ambassador.
Rodríguez and Ronaldo announced their relationship in 2017. The couple shares five children, including twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8; daughter Alana, 7, and daughter Bella, 3. Ronaldo is also the father of 15-year-old son Cristiano Jr., whom he welcomed in a previous relationship.
