Freakier Friday fans are in for a treat after the awaited sequel arrived in theatres. It marked the reunion of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis more than two decades after they first swapped bodies in the 2003 remake. The new film explores the chaos quadruples, ‘Anna’ played by Lindsay and ‘Tess’ portrayed by Jamie. They find themselves body-swapping not just with each other, but also with ‘Anna’s daughter, ‘Harper’ and her soon-to-be stepdaughter, ‘Lily’.
Similar to the first film, a wedding day chaos, some heartfelt lessons, and a lot of humour form the soul of the new film. But, a few eagle-eyed fans were able to notice that Freakier Friday is also packed with many Easter Eggs and here are some of them that you might not want to miss.
#1. The iconic phrase of “Make good choices”
One of ‘Tess’ signature lines from the first film makes a comeback in the new one. In the previous film, ‘Tess’, constantly told Anna to “make good choices.” Now, Anna repeats the phrase to her own daughter, ‘Harper’.
2. Same school, Sunset Ridge High School
‘Harper’ and ‘Lily’ attend Sunset Ridge High, the same school Anna went to in the 2003 movie. Those original scenes were filmed at Palisades Charter High School in Los Angeles, which, unfortunately, had burned down during the January 2025 wildfires
3. A return of the ‘Coleman Family Home’
In Freaker Friday, ‘Tess’ still lives in the same house from the first film. Jamie told Deadline in July 2025 that they shot in the original house and all over Los Angeles. Unfortunately, like the high school, the home was lost in the wildfires. Lohan told Elle the film serves as “a love letter to California” after the devastation.

4. Familiar faces in the new family
‘Mark Harmon’ reprises his role as Tess’ husband, Ryan, and Ryan Malgarini returns briefly as Anna’s younger brother, Harry. Harold Gould’s ‘Grandpa’ character doesn’t return, as the actor passed away in 2010.
5. ‘Mr. Bates’ remains the king of the classroom
Stephen Tobolowsky is back as the cranky teacher, Elton Bates, now making things difficult for Harper and her classmates. His ‘definition of cheating’poster looks almost similar to the one from the 2003 detention office.
6. ‘The Parent Trap’ Reunion
Elaine Hendrix, who played Lindsay’s soon-to-be stepmom, Meredith Blake, in The Parent Trap back in 1998, made a cameo as stylist Blake Kale. In a conversation with Entertainment Weekly, she revealed that they spent a lot of time together on set, recalling memories and catching up.
7. Pink Slip Plays Again
Anna had left her old band, Pink Slip, after the events in Freakier Friday. But, she briefly returns to the spotlight with her reunion for her bachelorette party and a project at The Wiltern. Lindsay joins Christina Vidal Mitchell, who plays ‘Maddie’, and Haley Hudson, who plays ‘Peg’, onstage to perform a new song, Baby’ and their iconic hit, Take Me Away.
8. ‘Jake’ still has a type
Chad Michael Murray’s ‘Jake’ reappears in the film, but he is now dating a woman who looks similar to ‘Tess’ with the same hairstyle and, same dress from the original wedding scene.
9. Britney Spears callback
When Anna and Tess visit Jake’s record store, Tess hides behind Britany in the Zone album, which is a nod to the 2003 release year of both the album and the first film. In Freaky Friday, ‘Jake’ famously tried to express his affection towards ‘Tess’ with Baby One More Time.
Well, Freakier Friday didn’t just bring a wave of nostalgia for fans, but the heartfelt tributes, return of important stars, and subtle nods to the original film have made it even more special for fans. How many Easter eggs were you able to spot? Let us know.
