Can you imagine rolling up to your local Cha Cha Matcha in Venice Beach, and being met by supermodel Bella Hadid casually sipping an iced beverage outside? That is precisely what fams were met with earlier today in California, when Hadid posted up at the trendy cafe to mark a special new drink she crafted in collaboration with her brand, Orebella. (According to their Instagram pages, the iced matcha features notes of jasmine tea, rose water, nutmeg, and a “kiss” of lemon.)
While her caffeinated concoction is made with shades of pink and green, Hadid chose a bold red outfit for her latest public appearance. Call her ensemble Baywatch meets tomato girl summer. Up top, her red halter evoked the iconic red bathing suit that Pamela Anderson wore on the Baywatch for years. But instead of leaning into said bathing suit vibe, Hadid paired it with dressier pieces, like cropped gingham pants and chic little rounded ballet flats.

Of course, the tomato girl summer trend has been going on for a while now, where one decks themselves out in various shades of red (or other earthy tones that would be found on a tomato vine). Fellow model Kendall Jenner is also a recent fan of the look: She donned a bright red mini dress earlier in the summer. But there is something particularly effortless and elegant about the way Hadid approached the color theory here.
By incorporating a classic gingham print and more minimal accessories, her styling feels timelessly polished. Sure, she may be hanging out in Venice Beach, but it’s also easily something that you could see on vacation in Italy—like, 20 years from now. (Tomato girl summer is all about living la dolce vita, after all.) All in all, her ensemble is a delicious fashion proposal worth replicating now and for years to come. Suddenly, we’re craving pasta.
