“Enhypen’s ready to show our true selves,” Sunghoon tells Vogue just before opening night of the group’s “Walk the Line” tour. “If I could, I’d even show myself shaving.” While there is no shaving tutorial in this exclusive last looks video, Enhypen does offer glimpse into a day in their day lives on tour—and what they’ll be wearing to perform.
“Walk the Line” is the pop sensation’s biggest tour since their 2020 debut, when the seven-person group rose to fame after winning on the K-pop survival program I-Land. To kick off the US leg of their tour, which comes months after the group performed at Coachella, the members arrive at the UBS Arena in New York’s Belmont Park six hours before showtime.
First up is a wardrobe check, which includes several stage looks—a Matrix-like leather ensemble among them. “Everything from the tank tops to the belt, it’s all custom,” says Jake. And not just any custom: “Prada,” Jungwon throws in. Ni-ki tries on the ensemble on behalf of the group. while the leather’s fit is a bit warm, nothing stops Enhypen from having a killer stage look. Fashion-wise, the group has come a long way over the past five years, with Jay’s self-proclaimed “rocker-chic” look morphing into a much more minimal aesthetic.
With five hours left until showtime, rehearsal is essential; the group has dance moves and vocal routines to practice. Given their passion for performing and familiarity with the stage, they helped choreograph many of the routines their perfecting.
When asked who takes the longest to get ready, the members all point to Sunoo, who nonchalantly glances at the cameras before asking the question, “Do I?” For Sunoo, his pre-show concert routine includes listening to band music, which is one of his favorite genres these days. (Similarly, Jungwon can’t leave his hotel room without headphones.) The most crucial part of show day for Sunghoon is eating a light meal before he goes on stage, while Heeseung needs a bit of alone time to finish warming up.
