It was on August 10, 2025, when Netflix unveiled the first look of the much-awaited teaser of One Piece Season 2. The global fame manga series by Eiichiro Oda is now like a gift to all the fans of the Straw Hat Pirates. Now, the most interesting part is that Netflix has revealed that they are soon going to release season 3 of the show. Now, the ninety-second promo video of One Piece season 2 begins with Inaki Godboy’s main character, ‘Monkey D. Luffy’. He is heard telling in the teaser that everything he has done and everywhere he goes is for the One Piece.
What is the storyline of One Piece Season 2?
The storyline of One Piece Season 2 showcases enemies who are tougher, and the adventure is dangerous. ‘Luffy’ will be sailing in the ‘Grand Line’ with the ‘Straw Hat’ crew. The ‘Grand Line’ is essentially a legendary sea, home to both danger and the greatest treasure to be found. Their journey will soon take them to strange, weird islands and also get them face to face with the new enemies. The cast members who have returned include Inaki Godoy essaying ‘Monkey D. Luffy’, Mackenyu essaying ‘Roronoa Zoro’, Emily Rudd playing ‘Nami’, and Jacob Romero Gibson playing ‘Usopp’, apart from Taz Skylar playing ‘Sanji’.
The teaser has also showcased fans’ new characters, such as ‘Miss Wednesday’ (Vivi) essayed by Charithra Chandran, ‘Miss All Sunday’ (Nico Robin) essayed by Lera Abova, along with ‘Marine Vice-admiral Smoker’ essayed by Callum Kerr. The crew will be seen clashing with the Baroque Works secret agents. Fans have also had the chance to see the giant Brogy, played by Brendan Murrau, towering over ‘Vivi’ and ‘Robin’. The Island Whale is also connected to the past of Brook. It is interesting also to note that Tony Tony Chopper, who was called at the Tudum event of Netflix, was not even seen in the teaser. This has surely sparked a lot of speculations that the Drum Island arc stuff will also be saved for the episodes later.
One Piece will soon have season 3
The teaser video showcased that the new characters are waiting for Luffy and his crew in their new sojourn to the Grand Line. Now, Netflix did confirm that the hit live-action pirate-based adventure One Piece will have a third season even before season 2 of the same was released. Fans on one side will need to wait till 2026 for the newest season to come. The web series is set to be based on Eiichiro Oda’s famous manga, which is the best-selling in the history of Japan. The production of One Piece Season 3 is set to begin soon, with filming taking place in Cape Town, South Africa.

Ian Stokes has worked on the One Piece series as a co-executive producer and will also join co-showrunner Joe Tracz. Stokes is seen replacing Matt Owens, who had left the show in March 2025, after being the executive producer and co-showrunner for One Piece Season 1 and 2. Joe Tracz will be seen as the co-showrunner during the second season and has also been a part of the project via post-production.
