Rescue operations are underway in Uttarakhand after flash floods, with over 700 people, including devotees and locals, already evacuated. Around 250 others, comprising 50 pilgrims and 200 residents, are still awaiting rescue. The state government has confirmed five deaths, while the number of missing varies: the Indian Army reports 100 missing, compared to 16 reported by the state government. Nine Army officers are also unaccounted for. A key bridge near Harshal was swept away in the deluge, and Border Roads Organisation teams are working to install a Bailey bridge despite persistent rain and poor visibility. Helicopters are assisting in the ongoing rescue efforts.
