Indian fashion house Gaurav Gupta has tapped Italian footwear brand René Caovilla as the exclusive shoe partner for its Quantum Entanglement bridal show, which took place in Mumbai during bridal week on Friday.

The collaboration between the two brands resulted in seven shoes featuring authentic Indian textiles and traditional embroidery, and they showcase extra embellishment by way of crystals and pendants.

Three of René Caovilla’s most famous styles were showcased in the presentation: the Chandelier sandal, the Margot sandal and the Cleo pump. The collection will be offered at René Caovilla and Gaurav Gupta’s exclusive boutiques as well as on renecaovilla.com beginning in January.

As its name suggests, the Chandelier sandal is known for featuring dangling crystal pendants on its straps; this style was interpreted in three versions using satin and traditional Indian brocade in hues of ivory and champagne.

The Margot sandal was reenvisioned as a platform style. One iteration is red satin with a golden crystal-embellished snake; another version is blue satin adorned with matching crystal embellishments.

Lastly, the Cleo pump is presented in black and ivory Indian brocade fabrics, respectively embellished with matching crystal detailing.

René Caovilla, known for its sinuous ankle straps, recently released a couture capsule collection recognizing its connections to couture fashion. The brand also provided the shoes for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in October. The label has been worn by a slew of celebrities, from Anne Hathaway on the set of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” to Taraji P. Henson at the 2025 Cannes amfAR Gala — and she paired the shoes with a Gaurav Gupta gown.
