In a heartfelt Instagram post, Rampal expressed his gratitude to those who stood by him at the very beginning of his career. He remembered his mentor, the late cinematographer Ashok Mehta, calling him “a complete legend” who not only shaped his craft but also inspired many in the industry.

“Got my hands on these precious gems, the beginning when it all started. With my mentor Ashok Mehtaji, a complete legend, who taught me and everyone whose life he touched. Including my dear friend and photographer who sent me all these beauties, Amit Ashar — thank you brother,” Rampal wrote in his caption.

The photos, preserved by his friend and photographer Amit Ashar, capture candid moments of Rampal during the making of Moksha. Directed by Ashok Mehta and recommended to Rampal by filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, the film starred him opposite Manisha Koirala. While the actor began shooting in 1997, the project took years to complete. Around the same time, he also worked on Shantanu Sheorey’s Jadh alongside Jackie Shroff, Tabu, and Smriti Mishra — a film that never saw a theatrical release.

Arjun Rampal made his official big-screen debut in 2001 with Rajiv Rai’s romantic drama Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. Over the past 24 years, the 52-year-old actor has featured in more than 40 films, including acclaimed titles like Rock On!!, Raajneeti, and Daddy.

Earlier this year, Rampal was seen in the sports action film Crakk – Jeetegaa Toh Jiyegaa! and also starred in the Netflix series Rana Naidu Season 2.
