While Netflix has yet to make an official announcement about the second season of The Hunting Wives, fans are hopeful that the series will continue. The steamy thriller premiered its first season on July 21, 2025, and is a fabulous blend of murder, scandal and complex characters. The series is based on May Cobb’s best-selling novel.
The Hunting Wives to renew for season 2?
Deadline allegedly reported that the show, The Hunting Wives, might return for the second season. In a post dated July 29, 2025, the portal revealed that Netflix has the ability to bring the show back as they have the exclusive rights in the US for another year. They added that the cast can also opt for another season. They were quoted as saying:
“Netflix does have the ability to bring The Hunting Wives back for more episodes. The streaming service has exclusive licensing rights in the U.S. for a year and the cast can opt in for new seasons.”
The Hunting Wives was initially supposed to premiere on Starz. However, the show eventually found a home on Netflix, where it soon became a hit. The story of ‘Sophie’ is narrated by Brittany Snow, a newcomer to East Texas who gets stuck in the lives of wealthy socialites, including ‘Margo’ (Malin Akerman), ‘Callie’ (Jaime Ray Newman), and ‘Jill’ (Katie Lowes). However, as ‘Sophie’s’ past catches up with her, the group ends up in a bigger mess as a series of murders and secrets follow the show.
In a recent interview with CBS, May Cobb shared that there is a lot to the story that has yet to be told. She added that the story had ended in a cliffhanger, and since the cast and crew were amazing, they all just wanted to get back together. She was quoted as saying:
“I feel like there is so much more story to be told. It ends on a cliffhanger, and also, the cast and crew were so wonderful. We all just want to get back together and work together again.”

The Hunting Wives’ lead, Brittany Snow, also comments on the show returning for Season 2
In another conversation, Brittany Snow, who plays the role of ‘Sophie O’Neil’, shared how the character will progress. She stated that she hasn’t even looked for answers to that within herself yet. She added that for now, she is comfortable keeping all the secrets to herself. Brittany hinted that the dark corners of ‘Sophie’s’ character will be explored in season two, giving fans some hope about the show’s return. She was quoted as saying:
“I think that that’s something that she probably hasn’t even wrestled with within herself, as far as why she’s comfortable keeping herself in that box and also keeping secrets from herself. That’s a dark night of the soul situation that we would only be seeing in season 2. I don’t know how she’s going to get there. Therapy? Maybe a really good therapist and a lot of time.”
