The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched two new initiatives the CBSE Career Guidance Dashboard and the CBSE Counselling Hub & Spoke School Model, for the academic session 2025–26.
Unveiled at the CBSE Integrated Office in Dwarka, New Delhi, the launch event witnessed participation from over 500 principals, counsellors, wellness teachers, and education stakeholders from across CBSE-affiliated schools.
In his keynote address, CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh, IAS, linked the initiatives to the larger vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He stressed CBSE’s ongoing commitment to inclusive, scalable, and sustainable student guidance frameworks. “These initiatives are designed to benefit both students and schools and will continue to grow through stakeholder input,” he stated.
CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta, IAS, also emphasised the increasing importance of structured support systems in helping students manage academic, personal, and career-related challenges.
TWO-TIERED FOCUS: CAREER AND WELL-BEING
The CBSE Career Guidance Dashboard, now live at cbsecareerguidance.in, is designed to assist students, teachers, and school leaders in exploring career options through a user-friendly digital platform. The tool provides access to career assessments, planning resources, and expert guidance.
Alongside this, the CBSE Counselling Hub & Spoke School Model aims to strengthen mental health support across schools. It will operate through a network of ‘hub’ mentor schools that support associated ‘spoke’ schools in delivering psychosocial services. Implementation frameworks and monitoring mechanisms for the model were explained in a detailed orientation session during the event.
BROADER EDUCATION REFORMS
Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations, conducted a special session on ongoing exam reforms under NEP 2020. He elaborated on implementation strategies and addressed practical concerns raised by schools.
The interactive sessions throughout the day gave educators a platform to raise questions and share insights on the evolving needs of students.
With both initiatives deeply anchored in NEP 2020’s vision, CBSE seeks to promote holistic student development by improving access to career planning tools and mental health resources. The board reiterated its dedication to working closely with educators and wellness professionals to ensure that students receive the guidance and emotional support they need to thrive.
