The couple in question was Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and the company’s Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot. As soon as the couple was caught on camera, they immediately tried to hide themselves, which was seen on the big screen. The scandal started a meme fest, and people started accusing Andy of adultery. The controversy got extended to such a point that Andy and Kristin both were placed on leave. Amid the scandal, people started whispering about Andy’s divorce and the huge amount he would have to pay to his wife as alimony.
Andy Byron won’t have to pay a penny to his wife after the divorce
While all eyes are on Andy Byron and his legal battle with his wife, Megan Kerrigan, experts say that Byron won’t suffer financially in the divorce settlement. As per California family law attorney Richard Sullivan, Byron might walk away freely after his divorce, as California is a no-fault divorce state. This means the court doesn’t consider who was at fault while deciding the matters related to property distribution and spousal support.
The attorney, Richard Sullivan, further revealed that Andy’s reputation took a massive turn after the scandal, but that doesn’t mean that his divorce settlement would strip him of his wealth. His property and other assets would be distributed fairly, and the settlement will be done on behalf of both parties’ earnings. In his words:
“Unless community funds were used to support the affair, like expensive travel or gifts, cheating has very little legal consequence. It might matter emotionally. But in court, it’s irrelevant.”

In the case of children’s custody, the court will only make a decision based on the children’s welfare and not based on who cheated in the relationship. Revealing how the family court is about stability, Sullivan stated:
“Bad judgment during a concert isn’t enough to label someone an unfit parent. Public embarrassment is painful, but family court is about structure and stability.”
Meanwhile, as per multiple reports, Andy Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan, dropped Byron from her name and deleted all the pictures featuring them. She reportedly left the couple’s 1.4 million USD home in Northborough, Massachusetts, and is now staying at another luxury property in Kennebunk, Maine.
Andy Byron to sue Coldplay for filming him without his consent
Days after the ‘Kiss Cam’ scandal, Astronomer hired Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, as a temporary spokesperson. The strategic move by the firm was hugely discussed on social media and was labelled as a ‘PR strategy. Amid the fiasco, a report claimed that Andy Byron was considering a legal route and would sue Coldplay for the emotional distress he underwent after the scandal.
A source told Page Six that Andy Byron felt that his privacy was invaded. The source further revealed that Byron didn’t give consent to be recorded on camera, which led to him facing significant public humiliation.
Amid the public outrage over Andy Byron’s infidelity, all eyes are now on his divorce proceedings from Megan Kerrigan.
